Assisted Suicide Should Not Be Illegal - 1655 Words

This year there will be hundreds of terminally ill people that die with the help of assisted suicide. And the question is should we control it or let people decide at their own risk how they want their last days to be? In this paper we will look at what the common law ,model penal code ,and state codes and statutes have to say. We will also look at some controversial but substantial cases that make assisted suicide legal in some states. And why Wisconsin and many other states believe assisted suicide should still be illegal. To begin you must first know that assisted suicide is for only terminally ill patients that have lost the will to live. Although this topic may seem like a common thing assisted suicide is actually a rare occurrence.†¦show more content†¦Whereas Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming do not recognize common law. This means that they have no statutes that pertain to the assisted suicide topic. This is where some of these big cases come into play. The three big cases that we will look at are Baxter v. Montana, Lee v. state of Oregon, and Washington v. Glucksberg. These cases are the reason that the five states have legalized assisted suicide and the reason for it. In Baxter v. Montana a 75 year old retired truck driver had a terminal form of leukemia. He was getting chemotherapy for it, but that will only get you so far. He began to get fatigue, nausea, and his glands started to swell. After the infections started the pain became unbearable for him. So he wanted the option of assisted suicide, but at this point in time it was illegal in the state of Montana. So the plaintiff of the case sued the state of Montana and said that the homicide statute was unconstitutional. The Montana supreme court looked into this case and previous assisted suicide cases. And the issue they found was â€Å"whether the consent of the patient to the physician’s aid in dying could constitu te a statutory defense to a homicide charge.† But in Montana there is an exception to the consent defense, where the public can not cause harm to anyone even with their consent. So the supreme court looked even deeper into another Montana case that was just for publicShow MoreRelatedAssisted Suicide Should Be Legal Or Illegal1792 Words   |  8 Pageswith it and died from the medicine (FIND CITATION). Get My IP With Delphi Programming

Internet this and internet that. Everybody wants to be on the internet nowadays. Everyone wants to program internet nowadays. One of the most interesting tasks when starting to code for the internet is how to obtain the IP address of a computer connected to the internet. IP? TCP? Simply technical: the internet is built on TCP/IP connections. The TCP part describes how two computers set up a connection to each other and transfer data. The IP part primarily deals with how to get a message routed across the internet. Each connected machine has a unique IP address that allows others to figure out a path to any computer around the world wide web (or the world precisely). Uses Winsock To obtain the IP address of the computer you are using when connected to the internet, we need to call some of the API functions *defined* in the Winsock unit. Well create a GetIPFromHost function that calls several Winsock API functions in order to get the IP. Before we can even use WinSock functions, we must have a valid session. This session is created with the WinSock WSAStartup function. At the end of our function, a call to SAC leanup is made in order to terminate the use of the Windows Sockets APIs. To obtain the computers IP address, we must use GetHostByName in conjunction with GetHostName. Each computer is called a host and we can get the hostname with a special function call: GetHostName. We then use GetHostByName to get the IP-address, related to this hostname. Get IP Delphi.Project.Code Start Delphi and place one Button and two Edit boxes on a newly created Form. Add the GetIPFromHost  function to the implementation part of your unit and assign the following code to the OnClick event handler of a button (below): uses Winsock; function GetIPFromHost(var HostName, IPaddr, WSAErr: string): Boolean; type Name array[0..100] of Char; PName ^Name; var HEnt: pHostEnt; HName: PName; WSAData: TWSAData; i: Integer; begin Result : False; if WSAStartup($0101, WSAData) 0 then begin WSAErr : Winsock is not responding.; Exit; end; IPaddr : ; New(HName); if GetHostName(HName^, SizeOf(Name)) 0 thenbegin HostName : StrPas(HName^); HEnt : GetHostByName(HName^); for i : 0 to HEnt^.h_length - 1 do IPaddr : Concat(IPaddr, IntToStr(Ord(HEnt^.h_addr_list^[i])) .); SetLength(IPaddr, Length(IPaddr) - 1); Result : True; end else begin case WSAGetLastError of WSANOTINITIALISED:WSAErr:WSANotInitialised; WSAENETDOWN :WSAErr:WSAENetDown; WSAEINPROGRESS :WSAErr:WSAEInProgress; end; end; Dispose(HName); WSACleanup; end; procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject); var Host, IP, Err: string; begin if GetIPFromHost(Host, IP, Err) then begin Edit1.Text : Host; Edit2.Text : IP; end else M essageDlg(Err, mtError, [mbOk], 0); end;

The Great Awakening A Revitalization Of Religious Piety...

â€Å"The Great Awakening† A revitalization of religious piety that swept through American colonies during the 1730-1770 was known as the Great Awakening. Christian life was of real importance to the North American colonists. And yet, during the eighteenth century, the Great Awakening can be described in several areas of religious revivals history. This was a schism that was made more acute by the enormous Pietistic wave. While reviewing the Great Awakening, if understanding correctly, it focuses was about the people that were in the church already. As, a result, this brought about a change to their piety, self-awareness also rituals (Gonzalez 288-289). However, going back to prior studies of church history, it was the spirit of Franklin’s time, the Age of Reason (1648-1789) during the Great Awakening that led to questions of dogma that seemed unimportant, hardly worth fretting about. Nonetheless, what was immensely more important was behavior. Do our beliefs make us mo re tolerant, more respectful of those who differ with us, more responsive to the true spirit of Jesus? The attitudes of the Age of Reason are not a thing of the past. They live today, as well in the values of the Western world. In reality, the spirit of the Age of Reason was nothing less than an intellectual revolution; a whole new way of looking at God, the world and one’s self. It was the birth of secularism. Finally, the Age of Reason sprang from the soil of a new faith in law and order.Show MoreRelatedGreat Awakening Essay1441 Words   |  6 PagesBy the beginning of the 18th century, there was an unmistakable feeling in the American Colonies that its intemperate society had become too comfortable and assertive, and had forgotten its original intentions of religious prosperity. The Biggest Challenge Facing Social Work Today Essay

The Biggest Challenge Facing Social Work Today I f the profession of social work was a client we might say that she was wrestling with the psychosocial crisis of identity versus identity confusion. We might assess the conflicted issues from her childhood (casework versus therapy versus policy/administration), the inadequate mirroring she receives from her environment (a culture that needs her to help those who the culture pretends do not exist, but is also compelled to devalue her for the same reason), and the gender biases that help keep social work a low-status, poorly compensated profession. Depending on our theoretical interests we might perform various tasks with our client. We might offer ourselves to our client as idealized†¦show more content†¦Despite the increasing diversity of social work training and professional activities, many people outside the social service fields believe that social work is limited to social welfare case management. This situation is particularly ironic because the unique character of social work provides several things that other professions either do not have or do not have in abundance. These are: a powerful commitment to positive social change, an articulate, coherent vision of our nations future, and the technology and ability to be instrumental in helping all citizens and all levels of government make the difficult and painful economic, political, social, and personal transitions that lie ahead. I suspect that social work has remained focused on her traditional client base partly because it is a right and moral thing to do and partly as a defense against losing focus. Many other professions have found themselves pushed further and further from their service mandate by the conflicting agendas of commerce, politics, or law. I also suspect that social work will not be able to exercise this defense too much longer. Social problems that were once unique to the inner-city environment, such as substance abuse, teen pregnancy, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and high unemployment, are now in evidence nearly everywhere. Visualization and Computer Graphics

Question: Discuss about the Visualization and Computer Graphics. Answer: Essay In this project, we have developed a movie using Adobe Flash. The movie developed is an animation movie, which used many screens run in the loop. When the images/screens run fast in the loop, they appear to look like moving image. (Zhang et al., 2009). We have developed scenes in the process of developed of the project, and a total of 27 scenes has been developed to cover the three-story boards. The scenes have been saved individually in separate files for backup as well. The scenes are then combined at the end of the project to make the movie. (Baxter et al., 2009). The development has been done in flat format, and the export of fail movie has been done in sf format. The story that has been used in the development of the movie has been first developed as story boards using pen and paper. In this, there have been characters of the movie where the two boys are driving and going in the car. They are discussing about the dangers and the other scenes they can find in it. As they are going nearer through the dark Jungle, it is evident from their face that they have a fear on the face of getting trapped by animals. But they are trying to cater their courage so that they do not miss the best adventure of life. With this, there has been a major flash light that is thrown at them. (Georgenes, 2013). Seeing this, both of them got scared but this is how they entered into the word of Jurassic park where there have been dinosaurs, here and there. Both the boys get out of the car and try to explore the place happily. They have not thought of the danger that can come to them and there is no body who can come for their rescue. (Jha et al., 2016). One of the boys Alex has been scared but finds the fences that has been there in that area. The major concern for this is that there is appearing of the dinosaur (which are of different types) and then it starts moving to them. The dinosaur came all over braking the fences so rapidly that it made the boys completely scared of the future situation that they had to face. Seeing this, they starting running harder where one of the boys started throwing stone on it. This was only to make it shoo away but such a thing can only worsen the situation and which looking like the same. (Liao, 2016). With the transitions both start running because the dinosaur got angry and to protect itself and the other animals in the area from the boys, it started running after them. With time, the boys who were finding a rescue for themselves hid behind the place in a house where FRex (the dinosaur) had enough capability to enter. The animals are well-versed of the areas and they can easily smell the person that comes into their area like they smell danger. Hence, with this, to an opportunity, the boys find a gun on the table, for their rescue. As the entire scene was being processed, the dinosaur gathered courage to kill the boys as it thought and considered that the boys have been a danger and have come to kill him. With this, Alex fires from the gun but they had only a single bullet to it. After firing, with the last chance to save life, the bullet did not shoot and it just went touching the dinosaur which was a major loss for the boys. (Ceperley, 2016). Eventually with the sound of the same, the dinosaur got angry and then he howled to scare the boys harder. With this, Alex falls into the loop of trap hole. It was almost to make him drown where suddenly Sizan comes for the rescue of Alex from the trap hole. The two boys started running for the car immediately so that they can run back to their home. With this, a stronger flash light came and they were taken back to their original position to the normal world. With this, we can easily understand that you can be nice to the animals but before going anywhere, it is always recommended to get a proper training of how they are needed to be handled. If the two boys knew how to handle the same, then they would have never faced such a situation. Also, it has always been said that animals especially dinosaurs are scared from the bullet noise and so it is recommended that they should not be beaten with it. (Izdebski et al., 2016). This will help them to understand that they have not come for this purpose. A proper focus should have been on taking a person who is enough helpful for handling such an adverse situation. For this, there are also a need to be strong enough in different situations so that the person standing in front of you even understands your plight. You have to be clever in different situations and work on handling the same with effort and intelligence. If the boys would have been trained and asked to be calm, then dinosaur would have come near them but it would have not effected or harmed them. Hence, with this, it is evident that dont run from the danger rather try to face the situations that come to your life. This will not only give you a better experience but help in the proper development. In todays time, it is important that the person is well-versed with the different situations and be able to face the world. One does no have to be clever everywhere but you have to face the world with dif ferent experiences so that a particular mistake is not repeated. The dinosaurs are not harmful if they are treated with care and love. So is the humans, if the world start treating each other with love and cooperation, then there will no problem in life.
